You and your belief

A traveler was passing through a path and came upon a spring; he rested, drank some water, and washed his face and hands. He had a walking stick, which he stuck into the ground beside the water, thinking, “Let this stay here; if someone comes with a horse, they can tie their horse to this stick and rest.” That person left his walking stick and went on his way. Another traveler arrived; he was thirsty, sat down, drank some water, and rested for a bit; he thought to himself, “What is this walking stick doing here? It will cause trouble for people.” He pulled the stick out and threw it away.

Both had good intentions, but their actions were contradictory; everyone lives according to their own beliefs.
