In the business, the true capital of individuals is their honesty; cunningness does not serve well in the business. If a merchant is too cunning, others will avoid him, not wanting to do business with him, and the community does not engage in business with someone overly cunning. In the business the measure of a person is the merchant’s honesty; a sincere merchant is given whatever loan they ask for, they are given credit, and are helped in every way, but people keep their distance from a cunning person. If a merchant wants to be successful in the business, they must consider honesty as their capital.
